Shish Grill in San Ramon is hands down one of the best Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurants in the area. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it’s a family-owned place that truly cares about quality, flavor, and hospitality. The food is fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. Their chicken shawarma and kabobs are incredibly juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the portions are very generous. You definitely get your money’s worth here. The garlic sauce is unbelievably creamy and addictive — I could honestly eat it with everything. If you like a little heat, their spicy chicken is fantastic. One thing that really sets Shish Grill apart is their daily specials like Mansaf and Maklouba. It’s not something you find everywhere, and they make it the traditional way with amazing flavor. You can really taste the authenticity of the Lebanese cooking. The restaurant is also 100% halal, which is great for the Muslim community, and they have plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, so there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, whether you’re dining in, sitting outside, or grabbing takeout. The staff are friendly and treat you like family, which makes the experience even better. I am visiting from out of town and I LOVE Mediterranean food. Every place I go I search for a good Mediterranean restaurant. Today is my first time eating here and I must say for the past decade I’ve lived in South Bay and Monterey peninsula, this is the BEST Mediterranean food I’ve ever had…fresh, tasty, authentic, healthy… just love love love the food here. I had the trout meal which comes with 3 side dishes and I ordered another lamb and beef meal to take home. Since I live more than 2 hours drive from San Ramon it is a real treat!
I have been to multiple Mediterranean restaraunts around the globe as I travel a lot. Genuinely speaking the food here tasted better than every single Michelin restaraunt, and Mediterranean restaraunts I’ve ever been to. I tried multiple stuff like the shish lamb burger, shish combo plate, kafta, lavash wrap, and I especially recommend the spicy chicken over the rice. It was the best chicken I’ve had in my life, and the service was amazing. Food comes out at a very good rate, and the serving sizes are huge. I promise if you get anything on the menu you will be satisfied.
This was some of the best food I’ve had in a while. It’s all fresh and packed with flavor. Easily became one of my favorites. The owners are so kind and nice!
One word: Fantastic. This restaurant does not disappoint. I called and was confirmed the meat is Zabiha. I saw this restaurant recommended online and convinced my family that the half hour drive was worth it- it was. Everything was cooked to perfection and I have to say it was one of the best Mediterranean foods in the Bay Area. Food, atmosphere, and service: rated five stars. We all agreed Insha’Allah we will be back.

We made the trip from Sacramento just to try this Mediterranean spot, and it did not disappoint. We had the spicy chicken entrée bowl with a house salad and lentil soup, along with fries and the falafel entrée. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The hummus and pita were some of the best we’ve had—creamy, smooth, and perfectly seasoned. While the spicy chicken was more sweet than spicy, the flavors were still bold and well-balanced. For those who like a kick, their spicy hot sauce adds just the right amount of heat. If you’re a fan of Mediterranean food, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommend!
Wow-kept it simple today: Kufta + Tabouleh plate. And oh my goodness-best Kufta mix and very yummy Tabouleh. I love that they also are Halal and offer a variety of independent cola and soda company options. Easy access off the highway-great stop when the traffic is nuts, but also great outdoor seating for a wonderful meal
Shish Grill is truly the food of love! Every dish they serve is full of authentic Lebanese flavor, made with care and passion. The food is absolutely delicious — fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I’ve tried many places in the Bay Area, but this is without a doubt my number one restaurant for Lebanese and Mediterranean food. From the quality of the ingredients to the warm hospitality, everything about this place makes you want to come back again and again. They also have very comfortable and relaxing music that makes dining there even more enjoyable. On top of that, their catering service is excellent — I’ve used them for my events, and the food and service were outstanding. If you want to experience real Mediterranean flavors, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch catering, Shish Grill is the place to go. Highly recommended!
Update 04/03/2026 The best Kibbe you will ever have. I used to not like Kibbe because wherever I tried it, it was dry and tasteless. Well Shish Grill changed that and now it’s my favorite. So moist and delicious, I absolutely love this place Try it and you’ll not be disappointed. Update 12/13/2025 Another wonderful dinner from the Shish Grill Wonderful Shawarma with plenty of pickles and tomatoes, just perfect. The Kibbeh was awesome, fresh, flavorful and moist. The tzatziki was excellent and the fries delicious. And of course the Ashtali was wonderful, light and delicious. Update 09/03/2025 Ordered two Shawarmas, one chicken and one beef. Also got hummus, spicy potatoes and soup. OMG, everything was so flavorful. It was different from other shawarmas I have had but delicious. The spicy potatoes and its sauce were the stars. Later, I will have my Ashtalia.😋😋😋 I tried this place for the first as I just moved to San Ramon. One of the best Lebanese Restaurants I have tried. The lamb shank and rice with tabbouli was excellent . The Falafel was the best I have had and I have had them all over the USA. They were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tahini sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The service was also excellent. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to shop at their store. Thanks for the great food! I had to edit my review to add the Ashtalia which I tried for the first time. So unbelievably delicious, light but flavorful. One of my favorite desserts now!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
